1. What type of clients does COL Search represent?
COL
Search represents a wide
variety of companies from start-up to fortune 100. We focus on position
ranging from architect/designers and developers to help desk and technical
support positions. Our life science group targets positions in the areas
of lab support and R&D ranging from technicians to staff scientists.
2. Does COL Search provide permanent placement services?
COL Search is primarily
a contract placement company however we occasionally help our clients
with
direct
hire permanent positions.
3. Do you offer clerical positions?
No, our only clerical positions
are internal to COL Search.

5. How will I know if my resume has been submitted to a COL Search client?
We
discuss every position in detail with each candidate before submitting
his or her resume to a client. No resumes are submitted without the approval
of the candidate.
6. Is my information kept confidential?
Yes, COL Search has a proprietary,
secure database and a policy of not selling any names or information
we receive.
7. Does COL Search offer health and dental benefits?
Yes,
we offer medical, dental & vision
care. COL Search will pay a percentage of the premium for the employee.
8. What is the process of signing up for benefits?
The consultant
must contact our HR department within the first 60 days of employment
for
a quote. If interested, the application must be submitted within 90 days
from the first day of employment.
9. Does COL Search have a 401K plan?
Yes
10. What is the process to participate in the 401k plan?
Each consultant
will receive a new hire packet, which includes a 401K-enrollment form.
The enrollment form should be submitted to our HR department. Once this
is received a 401K package will be sent which outlines the investment
options.
Payroll Questions
1. What are COL Search’s pay periods?
Paychecks are processed every
other Friday for the proceedingtwo-week period.
2. What forms are necessary to ensure I’m on the payroll?
W4,
DE4 (CA only), I9, Direct deposit, 401K and a picture ID.
3. What is the deadline to turn in my signed time card?
COL Search
must receive all time cards no later than 12PM PST each Monday.
4. Can I download a COL Search timecard?
Yes hit
the link “timecard” to
download, or call your recruiter and we’ll fax or email a blank
copy.
5. What is the fax number to send my time card?

6. Who is responsible for obtaining the signed time card?
If
the COL Search client you’re working for requires a signed time card,
the consultant is responsible for obtaining the signature from his/her
direct manager.
Each consultant should also have a back-up signing authority. Please
contact your recruiter for more information.
7. Does COL Search offer direct deposit?
Yes
8. Does COL Search deliver my paycheck?
No, we mail all checks, however
the majority of our employees have direct deposit.
9. What happens if I turn my timecard in late?
If you miss the
deadline of Monday at 12PM PST, the hours for that time card
will be paid
the following pay period.
10. Who should I call for questions regarding payroll?
For
all questions contact your recruiter. If your recruiter
cannot answer
your question
he/she will direct you to the appropriate person.
11. Is the process different for each client?
The process
can be different depending on the client, however
the pay periods
are
the same for every
COL Search client.
